FAQs
Check some of the most frequently asked questions regarding our services here.
1. When will my car be done?
The factors that affect the completion date include weather, holidays, delays in part delivery, and working with the insurance companies. The usual repairs require supplements written to include repairs missed by your insurance company in their original estimate.
If we work off our own estimate and don’t have to wait for insurance company approval, we are more likely to give you an accurate return date. Once we have the approval from your insurance company, we’ll be able to give a repair timeline. You can rest assured that we’ll work tirelessly to get you back on the road immediately.
2. What's our warranty or guarantee?
We offer a lifetime body and paint guarantee, manufacturer part warranty, and color match.
3. What's the difference between aftermarket and OEM parts?
Aftermarket parts are parts that are manufactured by a company other than the car manufacturer, while OEMs are brand-new factory-manufactured parts. Unfortunately, the “fine print” of some insurance companies states that they are allowed to write up estimates that require the use of aftermarket parts.
While we prefer using OEM parts, this is beyond our control. We do make sure that the aftermarket parts are “safe” and “undamaged” and will not be subpar parts of your vehicle. With us on the job, you have the assurance that we’ll only provide you with top-quality parts.
4. What if something goes wrong after my car is returned?
Our auto technicians do an extensive job and ensure that every car leaving our garage is functioning properly. Occasionally, however, there are issues that arise once the car has been driven again after the accident. Most of these issues are unpredictable, but please contact us immediately if something does not seem to be right.
5. Is your paint durable?
Our paint is beyond durable to protect your car from all the damaging factors on the road. We stand behind our lifetime warranty on all of our paint work.
6. Do you have a drop-off service?
We do have a dropbox where you can leave your keys if you need to drop the vehicle off before or after hours.
7. I got hit by someone. What are my rental car options through my insurance company?
If you have been hit and the accident is not your fault, you are entitled to a vehicle of “like-kind.” For instance, if you drive an SUV, your insurance company is required to give you something similar. However, you must check your policy to see if you have rental coverage.
8. What if the repair costs are more than my car is worth?
You do have options. Talk to us about your situation.
9. Who do I pay my deductible to?
It’ll be your responsibility to pay Fort Collins Collision Repair the deductible when you get your vehicle from our garage.
10. What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, VISA/MasterCard, bank checks, and insurance checks. We don’t accept personal checks.
11. Do I need more than one estimate?
No, it’s up to you to decide how many estimates you’d like and if you want to discuss the repairs with more than one shop. If you have decided to utilize us as your repair facility, we will deal with the insurance company directly throughout the rest of the repair.
12. Can I have my car serviced at the shop of my choice?
Yes, it is your right and responsibility to choose the shop that will repair your vehicle. You aren’t obliged to bring your car to shops recommended by your insurance company.
